VIDA launches with aim to support new niche digital media publishing brands
The new venture will help launch, build, incubate and accelerate the growth of new, niche businesses in digital media publishing space
The launch of a new venture, VIDA, has been announced today by Mark Maddox, who founded the business with Peter Cowley. VIDA will help launch, build, incubate and accelerate the growth of new, niche digital media publishing brands.
VIDA offers a unique business model combining the delivery of funding, support and commercialisation. Services include sales, marketing, monetisation, audience development, channel development, and strategic and corporate development.
Through this model VIDA supports not only new niche digital media businesses, but is looking to support a number of not-for-profit ventures.
VIDA co-founders CEO Mark Maddox and Non-Exec Chairman Peter Cowley are both successful serial entrepreneurs with a string of credits and strong track records in launching, managing, and selling digital media businesses.
Maddox’s roles include MD of content agency SevenC3; Founder and MD of digital media agency Que Pasa Media; and Founder and CEO of youth portal BurnitBlue.com.
Cowley’s experience includes his existing roles as Founder & CEO of production company Spirit Media; Co-Founder and NED of MarTech platform Connected Ventures and previously as MD of Digital Media for Endemol UK.
Both recognised that while there is a thriving technology start up eco-system, there is less support for businesses in the digital media space. They aim to change that with VIDA, by bringing their knowledge of and passion for the disruptive digital media space to helping businesses succeed.
Maddox states: “At VIDA we’re focused on raising investment in high quality digital media start ups and building a valuable eco-system for everyone involved. Our not-for-profit division also invests in content that is a force for good. We’re finding talent, accelerating growth and breathing life into new businesses.”
